Last weekend Jimmy and I drove off in Harry for a mini adventure. Well, when you’re parents to teenagers who no longer require your full attention, it still feels a bit naughty escaping without them, even for a couple of hours.
We drove to Hardwick, parked up and walked through some woods and cornfields in a big loop back to the car. It took an hour and a half and we talked all the way. We talked about our holiday in Spain, about where we might live one day, about photography, about needing decent shoes and about what to eat for tea. Back at the car we drank hot chocolate from a flask and ate malt loaf, it was lovely.
